Barbie

I don't think that Barbie influences the little girls who play with her, but I think that the media portray Barbie to girls, especially teenagers, as what they should look like. Which therefore does influence them to attempt to look like her.

are you really sure barbie doesn't influence young girls? i think she does and i have proof. my best friend's little girl is just over 2 1/2 and she plays with barbies..last night, she told me i was fat, and i think she really meant it, because when my best friend scolded her, she seemed really upset, and that's not like her when she's just joking around, and also she called herself fat--only 2 1/2yrs old and the average size healthy toddler and already calling herself fat. if that's not being influenced, i don't know what is.
