3 Ways to Grow Your Faith

If you have accepted Christ as your Savior, you have made the biggest decision of your life. However, making that decision was just the first step in your walk with God. In this article, you will find three ways you can grow your faith and strengthen your relationship with God.

1. Read Your Bible

One of the best ways you can get to know God better, is by reading your Bible. Even if you just read a little bit each day, you can learn a little bit more about who God is and how much He loves you. I recommend starting in the book of Romans or in the Gospel of John.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 says:

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

2. Pray

Being a Christian is about having a relationship with our God. It isn’t just knowing who He is, but being able to talk to Him. We talk to Him through prayer. It can be out loud or just in our heads, but He loves to hear from us. You can pray and ask God to help you with something, or thank Him for something He has done for you.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says:

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

3. Memorize Scripture

Memorizing Scripture is a great way to take our Bible’s with us, even when we aren’t at home. It can help us remember who God is and what He wants from us, and can help us make the right decisions, as well as encourage us when we need it.

An easy way to memorize a Scripture is to write it down, read it out loud, and repeat it as often as possible. If you don’t know which Scripture to memorize first, I recommend John 3:16. It was the very first verse I ever memorized, and I encourage you to start with that one as well. It’s a great reminder of how much God loves you.

Psalm 119:11 says:

“I have stored up your word in my heart,
that I might not sin against you.”

Conclusion

Your relationship with Christ is the most important relationship you will ever have. The more you get to know Him, the more powerfully He will work in your life, and the stronger your faith will become. Jesus can change your world. Maybe He already has. 

My faith in Christ has carried me through a ton of life's junk, and I know without a doubt, that your faith in Christ can do the same. I encourage you to grow your faith, and choose to walk with Jesus each and every day.
