God has helped me so much through the book Captivating. God has shown me what true beauty is. It is a heart at rest...a spirit that has been quieted by His love and filled with His peace.


I have struggled for years with a constant stress over not being pretty enough or thin enough. I've always related my "beauty" to how I look.

God has shown me His truth through Captivating and the Bible. I've learned that true beauty comes from resting in God, not from striving to be beautiful on the outside alone. He is bringing out my true beauty and I can actually see it. Before I look in the mirror I ask God to help me to see the beauty that He sees.

It has taken time, but I am so thankful for God's love and encouragement along this journey. I highly recommend this book to those who want to find their "true beauty".

Captivating made me weep with holy tears. The message therein is searingly beautiful. Between those pages God has showed me that in spite of my performance in life, my physical exterior and even the horror of my past - that I am endowed with the very Beauty of God himself. That Truth penetrated me deeply and I'm challenged to walk in this relevation everyday.
