dating good-bye???

you know i dont think you can not "date" if you want to marry. sure you can try and focus on guy "friends" but once you begin to feel a respect and soft love forming for that friend and he feels the same way, i dont think hes gonna propose on a friendship basis.....if ya know what i mean you're both gonna have to get on a closer level, which could mean asking each other to your houses, with family there, going on double dates, a trip to your favorite theme park and the like. all of these ideas keep you in others company but on a closer level, allowing fun and time out. i dont believe "dating" is wrong, it's just the way you do it. Love to y'll, a sis in christ.

Courtship

Good advice. I totally agree with what you're saying. Have you ever heard of the term "courting"? It's pretty much everything that you described and a great way to transition between friendship and a romantic relationship. It takes a really strong commitment from both people in involved though! If you'd like to read more, I'd recommend "Boy Meets Girl: Say Hello to Courtship" by Josh Harris, and "Passion and Purity" by Elisabeth Elliot. These are two of my favorite books on this topic, and both taught me so much about how to honor God through relationship. I think you'd enjoy them:)
