My God showed His love for me
The punishment He bared
So that I might be spared
The flesh ripped from His back
Now salvation I will not lack
The thorns pressed on His head
Assure me of my future ahead
Some gave looks of scorn
While others stood to mourn
But I choose to celebrate
What was once my fate
Your love given from within
Though You knew I'm full of sin
I know sometimes I falter
But here I stand at the alter
Ready to be made brand new
Now my life I give to You
By the power of Your name
I stand here with no shame
