Hi I am a 18 year old teenage girl. I'm a lesbian and a cutter. My mom hasn't gotten used to the whole lesbian thing yet. She hates it, and yells at me all the time for being one. That makes me cut even more. How can I still be happy with my life and live my life as a lesbian without cutting and having to feel this pain? Thanks for your time!

Hi Katherine, read your post precious and simply knew that I have to respond in a way that perhaps you will not like, but because of my love of God and faith in His Son, I can do nothing less than share this Truth with you.
To live "happy" as a lesbian and a believer in Christ is not possible. This site is for those who are struggling with issues and are seeking answers from God's perspective, we believe Katherine that the answers are found through a careful study of His Word.
We believe that God loves all and has the power to heal, deliver and set free all who believe on Jesus Christ. Cutting is not the only thing Jesus can set you free from. Katherine, we are so blessed that you would seek answers from a site that gets its answers from the Word of God. Continue in your quest for freedom and we do believe that you shall find it as we did through faith in Jesus Christ and living life based upon the principles of His Word.
We are praying that God would reveal Himself to you in such a special way that you come to understand that He went to that cross, was wounded, bled and died to empower you to have a brand new life - happy? That's the just the tip of the iceberg! Keep us posted!

Hello Katherine, I know how you feel. It hurts to be yelled at by your mom everyday because of what you feel to be true. For me, it only pushed me away and made me feel like she didn't accept me anymore. I never did cut myself, instead I dealt with the pain in a different way. I would write out all of my frustrations into poems everyday. I recommend this for you too. It doesn't have to be poems but just writing it done helps a lot.

When I was with my girlfriend I was always bombarded with confusion about whether I was doing the right thing or wondering if I was made for something else. I almost felt like I was settling, but I kept telling myself "this is how I was made" and "I would never be happier with a man." But I was lying to myself and I knew that deep down that this wasn't right. That happiness is false and doesn't last.

Since then I've married a wonderful man who loves and cherishes me and we are expecting our first baby. I know now that without a doubt I am where I am meant to be. And I have God to thank. When I was a lesbian, I felt so weighted down, but when I decided to seek out the truth and seek a relationship with God, I was set free. That relationship with Him is what true happiness is. I pray you will take that step because I care about you. I also pray you will learn from my past. God has a plan for your life. A book that I read when I started my walk with Christ really helped me to understand what life really is about. It's called "Purpose Driven Life." If you ever find that book, it's worth reading, because it can be life changing. In fact if you ever want to talk or want me to send that book to you, I'd love to. shealan.clark@gmail.com
