Help me i just don't know what to do right now....my parents scream and yell at me all the time i can't talk to them about anything itz just a mess....like my phone my life is smashed into pieces...and like the phone nobody did anything to make it better... i can't get a new one.....my friends are mad at me ever day and for nonsense reasons like i was "flirting" with their boy which is not true...i build up my self esteem they say i'm self centered i tear it down they say something about it they blame me but if someone else does the same they do nothing........i feel lonely and just today i heard that the person who is my best friend doesn't like me i don't know if it's true or not but i just don't know what to do now.. i take a back seat in everyone's life and no oe ever helps me someone please what can i do........also the person i like i'm to afraid to even go up and give it a try i'm to afraid it will back fire......i'm only 12 if i didn't mention that....

You're not alone

Dear Kyra,

There are times like that in everyone's life that we go through something like what you are experiencing right now, so let me encourage you, you are not alone.

More importantly, you are now 12 and making the transition into pre-teenage years, so you are experiencing some change in your life, as well as probably asking what is life all about and questions like that.

And it's normal. We all need help and advice at different points in our lives, so I encourage you to continue to seek help from others whenever you need it.

From what you've written, I feel that your feelings, thoughts and emotions are all over the place right now. It seems like too many things are going on at the same time and causing you a lot of trouble and worry.

Let me encourage you to quieten down your heart for a moment, just to sit, close your eyes, breathe deeply and slowly feel your heartbeat slow down, calm and your thoughts become a bit less messy.

Then let me encourage you to seek God. I'm not sure if you already know about God. God is our creator and our Heavenly Father, He is our Peace. The peace that He brings is amazing, it's an inner peace that causes you to smile and be calm even though everything around you is chaos and trouble is all around you, because we know that God is always in control of everything, and that He loves us more than we can ever understand.

So if you would like this kind of inner peace, just come to God. Ask Him to give you peace, ask Him to come into your life.

Also, maybe you should not listen and be affected so much by what people around you say. You must know your own values and beliefs and not be swayed easily by what others say. For example, if your friends are mad at you for flirting with a boy, and you honestly have checked yourself and your actions and can honestly say that it is not true, then you explain it to them. If they do not believe you, then I urge you to reconsider these friendships, because friends are meant to trust each other, to build each other up, to encourage each other and love each other. May God grant you wisdom to choose your friends wisely.

Find your identity in Jesus Christ, Kyra, and everything else will fall into place, even without you doing anything. And suddenly everything will be clearer. But you must persist and seek God first, above everything else, if you want to find this Truth and Peace.
