I'm lost.

I was baptized when I was younger and when my family moved I grew away from God. Every time I am in small group or in service, God's word always hits me deep. When they say stuff like raise your hand if you have accepted Jesus in your heart I kinda wanna raise my hand because i didn't really understand when i was little but now I do. But deep down i kinda feel like its wrong and i'm just not sure what to do.

Hi Lynn!

I just want to clarify, are you saying you feel guilty that you grew away from God but feel moved by him during services now since you're older? If so, I think that you are really being given a blessing! When a person comes to the realization how greatly God affects their life, enough to feel even empowered by it, that's an amazing thing! Try focusing on the future instead of the past in terms of your relationship with God. Even if you felt like your relationship with God was little or even non-exsistant before now God never leaves us and is always waiting for us to return to him. Try looking at how you feel now that your relationship with God is growing closer and how you can build that relationship even further now. The love of God is so beautiful and forgiving. He understands the hardships that we face in life and is always willing to forgive us. Don't be afraid to fully allow him into your heart. I wish you the best of luck! yes. that is what im saying i guess when i was baptised when i was younger i didnt really understand what it really meant. you know? would it be a bad idea to get baptised again?

That choice is totally up to you. I would say that if it would make you feel more deserving, positively influence your relationship with God or make you feel more at ease in general I think you should go for it. You may want to refer to Acts 19: 1-5 And or Romans 10:17. Good luck!
