Is Love A Lie?

Sometimes I wonder what love truly means,

Can you find it in life, in happiness, or only in dreams?
I wonder what true love feels like,
Is it a real feeling or only a lie?
It seems like it’s real but from what I’ve seen,
Love is deceitful, vengeful, and mean,
God says He loves me, and I believe that is true,
But humans cannot truly love, based off of what I’ve been through,
Does anyone love me? How can I know?
Some people’s actions make me think heck no,
I need a good heart to be sweet and kind,
Maybe, I’ll find someone…at some point in time,
But where can I find this person? Simply anew,
God will provide, because He showed me love is true.


Hi my name is Hannah ^^ I wrote this poem for people who have been heartbroken by people who they thought they fell in "true" love with. I'm only 13 so I've never had a boyfriend, but for some reason I can write poetry based off of my own pain and the pain of others. I hope you liked the poem and I will try to post more poems in the near future :D

I totally understand how you can write off others experiences. Your never too young to be able to comprehend things=-]. Love is wonderful because God is love.

Your poem made me rethink of my life. God loves me this I know is true not because the Bible tells me so because I believe it is so. I am 36 and been through lots of heart break with men especially my daughter's dad. After reading this poem I feel I deserved better than this. I will not allow any man to treat me as nothing because I am wonderfully made in his likeness and image. Thanks
