Things in this world try to distract me

they try to distract me from loving you
from needing you
from knowing you
and holding you by my heart, knowing you are true
But when I take a second out of my fast life to recongnize you, I know you, and i know you are true
When you created birds you gave them the power to sing
When you created me you gave me the power to listen
But I will walk right past those birds not noticing them with the inside of my head swarmed with thoughts of what to do, how to fix things, thoughts of my fast life
With my ears covered not listening
But when I take a second out of my fast life to recongnize you, I know you, I know you are true
And I listen to the rich song of those birds, and thank you for letting them sing and letting me listen
You are there in the birds song, you are there when the sun shines, you are there when the day closes in to night in a beautiful array of colors, you are there when the rain falls, you are there in the lullaby of the cricket, your are there inside of me, you are my heart and you make me breath, you are there when I get hurt, you are there every second, every day.
But when I take a second out of my fast life to recognize you, to know you, and I know you are true, and the only thing seperating you from me is me not listening.
