sometimes I hang out with my friend who is not REALLY a Christian and they do not listen to Christian music.

I love to listen to the beat and the background music, but i try not to listen to the words (there not bad there just not christian). do you think that is fine, or should I stop listening to it altogether?

I think it would depend on the music. You said the lyrics weren't bad, but you also say that you try not to listen to them. A lot of songs it's hard to tell what the lyrics are actually meaning without actually listening. The words might not sound bad until you actually stop and think about what they are saying...

I do not think all non-Christian music is wrong. There are plenty of songs that praise God that aren't technically "Christian" songs. So it would depend on the music. I recommend praying and asking God to guide you. Are you witnessing to these friends? Does listening to this music with them effect your witness for Christ? I can't answer those questions without knowing the music they listen too, but you probably can...
