My Friend and "Spooky" Books

Hi ya'll!

I have an important question, I have a friend who has started to read horror story books, she is a Christian - but has been struggling with her faith in JC. She recently told me about this book she was reading and said if her mom knew what it was about she wouldn't like it - and wouldn't want her reading it. She's 17, we've been super close since we were tiny babies - I being a year younger than her.
Last year when her older sister was reading books like this she scolded her - not for going against her mom, but for letting things like that into her life.
Now she is doing the same.
I know I as a friend I need to pray - but I feel I need to stop her too. I need advice - please - someone comment!
I don't know how to tell her...and I don't want to sound like a preacher - only a loving friend - some help???

A Loving Friend

You can be a friend to her by simply telling her how you feel. You can't force her to stop reading those books. But you CAN tell her that youre noticing that reading those books are influencing her in a negative way.
Let her know how you feel, otherwise she may not realize how bad those books could be hurting her faith.

Opening yourself

Tell her about what God has done for you. How he has made you strong againest things such as that so your will strength for God cancels out your desire for things like that.Tell her, you don't want her to get hurt, and want her to stay close to God. I was watching a LOT of ghost shows, y'kno like those ghost finder ones, and I didn't think it was a big deal. I didn't believe I was opening myself up to stuff!! But, I was. It didn't come to me until one night I woke up, felt a breeze inside of me, and felt like I was waiting for something, and heard a woman's voice strongly in my mind say "COME" it was chilling.It was like something entering my mind, that I didn't want there. I still don't know wheter it was from God or the devil, but I believe now it wasn't from God. Then, I pushed it off to the side until one night completley out of nowhere I heard the same voice say "Natalie, we're coming now" I still feel like I can cry when I write this because it was ssoo scary. I went to my friend's house, told her about it and cried. Also I told my mom, and I called the CBN prayer hotline you can find it at cbn.com it's a 24/7 prayer hotline. They prayed for me, and I felt God taking control, and I heard no more voices, watched no more Ghost shows, and stayed away from all that stuff, and closer to God. Tell her, just like you open yourself up to Jesus, you have to open yourself to demonic power, in order to recieve it, tell her, she can be doing it, even with something as simple as this. It's scary, trust me, I don't want anyone to have to deal with that stuff. Only God's power can cure it. Tell her you love her and God loves her too much for her to let herself fall into a trap like this. Hope this helps!!=-]
