by Meredith
My name is Meredith. I've never told my story before, I never really thought I had one. Im 14 years old and live with my mom, dad, brother, and sister. A couple years ago I struggled with an eating disorder, and have mostly over come it. The same summer I was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a connective tissue disorder. Everyday I struggle with overwhelming pain and dizziness. Starting the school year I met a guy I really liked. We starting going out in March of 6th grade, I know, way to young. In the beginning everything went well. I told him everything, he was my best friend. I trusted him with all my secrets. He was the first to hear about everything. He really helped me a lot with EDS, he made me feel normal and loved. However, toward the middle of 7th grade he wanted more then just a best friend. He wanted my body, and I gave it to him. And now I think about it everyday, and I spend hours crying, because I thought he loved me, but he treated me with absolutely no respect. We dated for 18 months, and it recently ended very bitterly. Im still trying to recover. He has a piece of me I can never get back. What hurt the most was part of us ending had to do with EDS, and its something I can't change. God made it a part of my life, he has big plans for me. But its easy to forget sometimes, especially when I imagine my life without it. Im in the middle of Shelley's book, and it's changing my life. I want to walk with God the rest of my life<3
