I too played with barbies when I was younger. I am now 21 years old and I have many issues with my body and have a hard time looking at myself because I am not skinny, but do not get me wrong I am not blaming that entirely on Barbie but barbie does set an unrealistic image for little girls. Not only does barbie portray the image that you need to be thin to be beutiful but that you also need to dress like a stripper to be considered attractive. I think that the best thing mattel could do to improve the negative image that barbie portrays is to not only learn how to dress barbie so that she does not look like a street walker but to also make a barbie with more realistic proportions like maybe a plus sized barbie.
