i like this boy that is in my high school hes a year older than me but he is always looking and staring at me and laughing at everything i say and when we r in lunch hes always passing right by me like every 2 min

Roller Coaster Ride

Not to be a downer or anything, but when I looked through my high school journal the other day, I saw myself saying the exact same things you did. I had a different crush every week, sometimes every day, and I saw signs of attraction in every little thing these guys did or said around me. It's totally normal, but such a roller coaster of emotions, right?

It's very easy for girls to get carried away with stuff like that. You have to keep a tight rein on those thoughts and try not to let them get out of control (Phil. 4:8). If they do get out of control, you begin to lose focus on God (the one who already loves you regardless of what you do or look like). That happened to me when I was in high school and it sucked to realize that when I looked back through my journals. One entry would look like, "I really need to spend more time with God, but oh my gosh I have to tell you what so and so did today...I LOVE HIM!!!" I was so distracted!

Focus on God and what He wants for your life, instead of the boy. If this boy likes you, he'll tell you. Then you can ask God how to deal with it. Don't feel like you need to do or be anything other than who you are to attract anymore attenton from him. Now that you feel you have his attention, the temptation will come for you to control the situation and make him like you more and more. If you keep your focus where it should be, he'll like you for who you are instead of who you think he wants you to be... if that makes any sense at all, lol.
