When I tell you that you're disgusting,
When I say I'm just 'okay,'
it means I'm dying.
The bigger I smile,
the larger my pain,
the harder I laugh,
the faster I'm falling.
When I talk about "other people" who "have problems,"
I'm telling you everything about myself.
When I say I'm not hungry,
not cold, not hot, not afraid, not angry,
I'm lying to you.
Every time.
When I disappear for hours,
I'm in my room behind the door,
trying to fight away the voices
that mock my right to live.
When I go to the bathroom,
I'm just leaving the room so I can cry.
When you are the most sure I'm okay,
that's when I'm almost dead.
Don't trust me. Please don't trust me.
Just stop me.
