When God Talks - Talk Back!

I don't want my daily reading of God's Word to be dry. I want it to be fresh.

As I was thinking about this, I remembered something Beth Moore once said. She was talking about reading the Bible and how she believes that it is God speaking to us. And she made a good point I don't think I'll ever forget. She said, in a conversation, if someone talks to you, what do you do? You listen and then you talk back. Therefore...

When God Talks, Talk Back!

So, she said when she reads something in the Bible (God talking to her) that doesn't make sense, she asks God about it...out loud. She asks God her questions. If something makes her excited, she also lets God know...out loud. If she doesn't understand something, she talks to God and asks for wisdom and understanding...out loud.

I think you're getting the picture. When God talks to us through His Word, it is okay to talk back to Him about it.

It makes reading the bible more of a conversation, than just taking in knowledge. To me, a conversation sounds a lot more exciting!! And I want to do that more often in my own times of reading God's Word.
